The Sport Program with a Difference

Playball is Educationally based
. Positive coaching methods are used to develop life skills like independence, self confidence, courage, discipline, concentration and listening skills, good sportsmanship, responsibility and
social interaction.

Playball is progressive. Children progress from an informal introduction to ball and motor skills, to more structured sports participation.

Playball consists of 6 stages:

OUR PROGRAMME FOR TWO YEAR OLD CHILDREN

The main objective of the 2 Can Do program is to give an early encounter with a structured learning environment. 2’s are exposed to concepts like learning routine, listening and following instructions, basic concepts like colours and shapes, spatial concepts and a introduction to basic movement skills.

OUR PROGRAMME FOR THREE YEAR OLD CHILDREN

This program covers the following basic areas and provides a sound foundation for the next age group.

1. Introduction to basic ball skills.
2. Development of student's enjoyment for sport.
3. Confidence to participate in sporting activities.
4. Social integration with other students.
5. Development of concentration.

The emphasis is on having fun and playing games with a ball so that the child's first introduction to sport is a happy and positive one.

OUR PROGRAMME FOR FOUR YEAR OLD CHILDREN

This program covers the sections listed below and provides students with a solid grounding and a basic competence in ball skills.
The children are exposed to a wide variety of different skills in each lesson.
It is in this stage that they have the opportunity to practice the skills more rigorously developing competence.

1. Development of a wide variety of ball skills.
2. Emphasis on individual participation.
3. Overcoming the fears that discourage sports participation.
4. Introduction to organized ball skill activities.

OUR PROGRAMME FOR FIVE YEAR OLD CHILDREN

This program covers the more demanding ball skills, as it is essential that the necessary base be laid for the six popular sports that will be covered in the child's school environment.

1. Development of skills related to the sports played at school.
2. Introduction to basic teamwork.
3. Development of skills needed in a game situation.
4. Introduction to partner work.

OUR PROGRAMME FOR SIX YEAR OLD CHILDREN

It is in this program that the children are actually involved in playing the sports. Successful completion of this program provides students with the skills necessary to play the game, as well as knowledge of the basic rules related to each sport.

1. Introduction to sports.
2. Introduction to basic rules of the sports taught.
3. Further development of skills related to the sports taught.
4. Development of more complex teamwork (Attack & Defense).

OUR PROGRAMME FOR SEVEN AND EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILDREN

This program teaches the children the intricate skills needed to play the six popular sports. Matches are played and drills used to continue to develop and prepare students for a lifetime of confident and competent sports participation.

1. Development of more advanced sports related skills.
2. Further development of the fundamental rules.
3. Learning how to play as a member of a team.
4. Applying advanced skills to a match situation.

Playball is outcomes based. Each stage includes defined age specific objectives which are realized within the course of the year.

Playball is professional. A research and development team has refined the program over a period of 26 years and is continually updating the content of all stages presented.

Playball is specialised. Coaches are trained every 12 weeks and use specialised coaching methods as well as specially designed
sporting equipment.
